The Royal Family
A woman of thirty and six years of age, Queen Ewelyne is a skillful and resolute ruler. She is the mother of three children, the Daughter-Heir Maigred Agnille, Lord Ceiwyn Pauwel and Lady Roweine Elsivian. Unusual for an Andoran queen, Ewelyne had not trained in the White Tower, but was awarded the Great Serpent ring upon her coronation. With the recent death of the Prince Consort, Her Majesty's relations with the White Tower have taken on a rather antagonistic flavor.
Until his death earlier this year, Lord Pauwel was the adored and honored husband of Her Majesty. The son of the High Seat of House Marevin, his marriage to the queen was the reward for his family's support in prosecuting Ewelyne's claim to the Rose Crown. He was a shrewd politician and capable general, as well as a devoted father. His death, under mysterious circumstances, has brought Her Majesty to the brink of severing relations with the White Tower as his counsel had often contradicted that of the Tower Advisor, Aulan Chunes of the Gray Ajah and the queen is bitterly suspicious of Aulan Sedai.
A maid of seven and ten years of age, Lady Maigred is the oldest child of Queen Ewelyne and Lord Pauwel, and the Daughter-Heir. In addition to her role in the succession, Her Majesty has bestowed upon Lady Maigred the title of Lady of Eirewan, a wealthy estate in the north of Andor, with ensuant incomes. She currently studies as a novice of the White Tower; any potential ability to channel is yet unknown.
A youth of sixteen years of age, Lord Ceiwyn is the only son of Queen Ewelyne and Lord Pauwel, and their middle child. He is destined to serve as Maigred's First Prince of the Sword when she succeeds their mother on the Lion Throne. In addition, Her Majesty has bestowed upon her son the title of Lord of Moiray, a wealthy estate in the northeast of Andor, with ensuant incomes. In light of the strained relations with the White Tower, and the unprecedented state of affairs, Lord Ceiwyn studies for his future military role not in Tar Valon, but in Amador, tutored by the Council of the Anointed.
The youngest child of Queen Ewelyne and Lord Pauwel, Lady Roweine is a girl of fourteen. She is the second in line to the Lion Throne until such time as Lady Maigred marries and has a daughter of her own. In addition to her place in the succession, Lady Roweine was bestowed by Her Majesty the title of Lady of Kerent, a wealthy estate in the west of Andor, with ensuant incomes. She is betrothed to Lord Aidan of House Marevin.
The younger brother of Queen Ewelyne, Lord Geidan serves as her First Prince of the Sword. His marriage to Lady Silayne of House Normand was arranged in exchange for the support of House Normand in prosecuting Ewelyne's claim to the Rose Crown. He is the father of one child, a infant boy named Theodram.
The granddaughter of the High Seat of mighty House Normand, Lady Silayne wed Lord Geidan in exchange for House Normand's support in prosecuting Ewelyne's claim to the Rose Crown. She is a close confidant of Her Majesty, and has often served as an official emissary to foreign rulers. She has one child, Theodram.
The sister of Prince Consort Pauwel, Lady Caitrin is yet unmarried. She serves as Her Majesty's Chief Attendant, and is a young woman renowned for her ability to discern secrets. She is a close confidant of Her Majesty.
Queen Ewelyne's elder half-sister, and a granddaughter of Queen Malenroe I, Lady Elsivian is the unsuccessful claimant to the Lion Throne during the last Succession. A cunning and ruthless woman, she is the wife of Lord Harwed of House Niallan. During the Succession, she managed to be crowned in secret as Elsivian II, although she was forced to quit the palace and her right of rule was not recognized by the peers of Andor, foreign rulers or the White Tower. Nonetheless, she deems herself the rightful queen despite the public oaths of fealty she took at the prompting of the White Tower. She is the mother of four children, and lets it be known that she considers her eldest daughter, Elinwey, the Daughter-Heir of Andor. She is believed to preside over a massive array of informers.
The High Seat of House Niallan, Lord Harwed pledged the support of his house to Elsivian of Govanyn in exchange for her hand in marriage. A notoriously unpredictable general, Lord Harwed had many early successes in pressing his wife's claim to the Lion Throne, most notably her coronation and brief occupation of the Royal Palace. During the struggle to retain control of the palace, Lord Harwed lost his hand and lower arm in a duel with the late Prince Regent, Lord Pauwel. He is the father of four children.
A young man of twenty-two, Lord Cormuir is the clever and wry son of Lady Elsivian and Lord Harwed, and is never far from his mother's shoulder. As eldest child, his parents agreed to have him inherit his father's legacy of House Niallan. Although his mother quashed a betrothal to the Daughter-Heir, Lord Cormuir secretly plots to effect such a union, in spite of his mother and sister's claims.
An unscrupulous young woman of twenty-one, Lady Elinwey is the eldest daughter of Lady Elsivian and Lord Harwed, and has been raised by her parents to consider herself Daughter-Heir of Andor. She enrolled in the White Tower, but was returned to her parents after six years, wearing the Great Serpent ring. She is believed to seek a powerful husband, even as she quietly builds an array of informers independent of her mother's.
The younger daughter of Lady Elsivian and Lord Harwed, Lady Maurien is a maid of fifteen who is planning on enrolling in the White Tower on her next naming day. Reared by her mother to consider the throne of Andor as her potential birthright, she joins in her mother's rivalry of the Aurands and dreams secretly of supplanting her sister.
The youngest child of Lady Elsivian and Lord Harwed, Lord Ewyn is a boy of thirteen. His parents have intended to send him to Amador in order to keep a foot in the camp of the Children of the Light.
