"Bounty and Boon"
2) Queen Malenroe I ruled for nineteen years. Although she is noted to have born three children, the identity of the third, and even its gender, is unknown to this day. The known issue of Queen Malenroe I were the Daughter-Heir Alesinde Maurien and Tristam Nial.
3) Lady Alesinde, the Daughter-Heir, died giving forth her second child, the Lady Malenroe Ielsien, and never ruled. Upon her death, her daughter Malenroe was crowned in infancy as Malenroe II. Alesinde's brother, the Prince Tristam, was Prince Regent
4) Queen Malenroe II, 'the Little Queen,' died at the age of nine of a fever. Her death set off the most recent Succession.
5) The Succession, in Andor, or the Fourth War of the Andoran Succession as it was known elsewhere, was an armed struggle in which there were two chief claimants. Each was a granddaughter of Queen Malenroe I. Indeed, then Lady Ewelyne and Lady Elsivian are in fact half-sisters, each the daughter of Prince Tristam.
6) Prince Tristam's first wife, Lady Rosimun of House Govanyn, was the granddaughter of Lady Mahailde. She bore him one child, Lady Elsivian. Lady Rosimun died in a skirmish in which she and her lance-captain were putting down recalcitrant vassals. Her daughter, Lady Elsivian, assumed the High Seat of Govanyn at the age of fifteen.
7) Prince Tristam's second wife, Lady Agnille of House Aurand, was a granddaughter of Queen Elsivian I, as her father Aedmon was her son, and brother to Malenroe I. Lady Agnille bore two children to Prince Tristam, Lord Geidan and Lady Ewelyne. Both Lady Agnille and Prince Tristam died from White Fever, leaving the fortunes of House Aurand in the hands of Ewelyne, aged eleven, and Geidan, aged nine. Lady Agnille's sister Gwenian reared the children until their majority and laid claim to the Rose Crown in Ewelyne's name.
8) Lady Elsivian managed to have herself crowned as Elsivian II when she and her ambitious husband Lord Harwed were able to secrete themselves and a small cortege of armsmen into Royal Palace and allegedly crown Elsivian in private. They were driven from the Palace by armsmen of House Marevin. During the fighting, Lord Harwed lost a hand. No nations had recognized her right of rule, nor had the White Tower. The entire episode earned Elisvian the unflattering sobriquet 'the Queen of Ten Days.'
9) The Succession was ultimately decided in favor of Lady Ewelyne of Aurand with the support of two great houses of Andor. House Marevin pledged its support in exchange for marriage between its scion, Pauwel, and Lady Ewelyne. House Normand also pledged its support, in return for which Lord Geidan married Lady Silayne of Normand. Publically, of course, Lady Ewelyne's superior descent from Queens Elsivian I and Malenroe I is touted as the reasons of their support.
10) After her grand triumphal entry into Caemlyn, Lady Ewelyne was crowned as Ewelyne I. Among her first official acts were the pardonings of Elsivian's supporters as well as a pardon for Elsivian herself, who was welcomed as the Queen's Sister and who took oaths of fealty before the Court. It did not escape notice, though, that Lady Elsivian was accompanied by no fewer than six Aes Sedai during the ceremony.
11) Lady Elsivian was allowed to resume her estates and incomes with the blessings of the Queen, and the White Tower. It is believed that the new advisor to Queen Ewelyne, Aulan Chunes of the Gray Ajah, had pressed for her execution, but the queen was unable to sign the warrant for her own half-sister.
12) In the interests of promoting unity and stability, Queen Ewelyne had once suggested a marriage between her own daughter, Maigred, and Lady Elsivian's son, Lord Cormuir, but the notion was rebuffed at the Govanyn's stronghold. It seems that Lady Elsivian still has designs on the Lion Throne, if not for herself, then for her daughters, Elinwey and Maurien.
13) As recent events have shown, the Tower is again taking a prominent role in the affairs of Andor. With the sudden death of the Prince Consort, which Queen Ewelyne strongly believes Aulan Sedai to have had a hand in, Her Majesty has distanced herself from the White Tower. Indeed, she has in fact accepted an Ambassador from Amador, Lord Padrec of House Martelle, a powerful nobleman and indeed a Lord Captain of the Children of the Light! His son, Benedec, is believed to be the presumptive heir to the throne of Amadicia, as his mother, Fianda, is the sister to the childless King Coelam.
14) Although the Daughter-Heir Maigred studies in the White Tower, Queen Ewelyne has dispatched her son, Prince Ceiwyn, to be tutored in Amador by the Anointed.
15) Recent events in Amadicia have indeed suggested that Lord Benedec stands to inherit the throne of Amadicia. Rumors abound in the Courts of the world that a betrothal between the Daughter-Heir and Lord Benedec is but waiting to be announced.
